SC to Hear Stray Dog Case; Congress Plans Protests on ‘Vote Theft’
Key political and legal developments include SC stray dog hearing and Cong protests.
The Supreme Court has referred the ongoing stray dog matter to a three-judge
Bench, which is expected to hear the case on Thursday. The development comes
after the court expressed concern over an “extremely grim” situation caused by
stray dog bites, particularly affecting children. On Monday, the apex court
directed Delhi-NCR authorities to permanently
relocate all stray dogs from streets to shelters “at the earliest” to
curb rabies cases.
Meanwhile, political activity is set to
intensify as the Congress plans nationwide protest marches against alleged
“vote theft”. In Bihar, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha may respond to
an Election Commission notice regarding allegations of holding two voter cards.
In another key legal matter, the Supreme Court
is likely to hear a plea seeking the restoration of statehood to Jammu and
Kashmir. Both political and judicial developments are expected to dominate the day’s
agenda, reflecting a mix of governance, legal reforms, and electoral
accountability issues.
